Divorce Child Custody Paralegal Washington State
Child Custody, the Major Parenting Plan Modification
This document preparation service is for changing custody of the children from one parent to the other parent and when there already exists a parenting plan that resulted from the parents getting divorced from each other or having established parentage in a court. Often child support will be at issue too. Often, one of the parents state they want full custody.
Some major parenting plan modifications do not change the primary residence of the child but address significant changes to the parenting plan of more than 24 days per year shift in days to the non primary/custodial parent. This type of child support modification can also change decision making.
Child Custody, the Minor Parenting Plan Modification
Minor parenting plan modification document service is very much the same as a major parenting plan modification. The main difference is that child support will not be at issue and the changes to the parenting plan are minor. A minor change to the parenting plan will not change the schedule by more than 24 days per year, or it may simply change where the child or children will reside during the year without having any days per year added or subtracted.
Minor parenting plan modification does not change the primary residence where the child or children reside. Again, parenting plan modifications can happen only if there is already a court ordered parenting plan in which to modify. Our child visitation document preparation services for Washington State would be considered a minor modification of the parenting plan.

Split, Shared and Joint Custody
I will explain to you the difference of these three terms. First, joint and shared are the same thing. Simply put, they are terms that are used in place of visitation. Split however, it is a total different thing altogether. Split custody for example, is only when there is more than one child. At least one child lives primarily with each parent-that is split.
